14/9/08 – Acquisition – Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi – Thanks to a generous donation from the former president of Fiat, Paolo Fresco, and his wife the Uffizi Gallery in Florence recently received a panel from a predella by Sano di Pietro representing Christ between the Virgin and Saint John (ill.)

Strange as it may be, due to Sano di Pietro’s enormous production, the museum did not own any paintings by this artist, one of the major figures of the Quattrocento from Sienna known particularly for his works of Gothic international.
