16/11/10 – Appointment – Ministry of Culture – The list of members in Fillon’s new government has been officially announced and Fréderic Mitterand has been renewed in his post as Minister of Culture. The news is not a surprise. There were rumors about Roselyne Bachelot being named but, quite fortunately, we have been spared the blow. It seems obvious that this office requires a good amount of stability and that it is better that Frédéric Mitterand remain at the ministry. We would, however, appreciate it if he were a bit more active in promoting heritage and museums than he has been until now. Several cases are pending, foremost of which is the future of the Hôtel de la Marine. The departure of Hervé Morin as Minister of Defense might be a good sign here but there is no way of knowing if the arrival of Alain Juppé will change anything, since he has never really shown any interest in heritage questions.
We would like to remind the new minister that we are still patiently waiting for him to answer our questions one day.
