6/01/11 – Art market, exhibition, colloquium, publication – Paris – The next Salon du Dessin will take place from 30 March to 4 April 2011 and will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Last year, there was a stand displaying some of Alain Delon’s collection, this time a museum, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, will present about forty drawings from its collections.

As usual, a colloquium will be held on 30 March, the VIth International Encounters of the Salon du Dessin with the same theme again, collector’s marks. We take this opportunity to point out the publication of last year’s proceedings under the supervision of Peter Fuhring, scholarly adviser to the Fondation Custodia. They include about ten articles and begin with a presentation of the new database for collector’s marks posted online by this institution (see news item of 25/03/10). So far, a thousand entries have been published by Frits Lugt and no less than 3.000 (!) are in the works. The Semaine du Dessin, which traditionally accompanies the event, will feature the exceptional opening of several graphic arts collections for the public. Some of these will offer only limited access but we will provide our readers with more details as soon as they are available.
